A prudent approach for the removal of copper (II) and cadmium (II) ions from aqueous solutions using indigenous Mactra aequisulcata shells

In this study, the raw seashells of Mactra aequisulcata, class Bivalvia and phylum Mollusca were employed as an adsorbent to remove copper (II) cadmium metal ions from aqueous solution. The characterization shells was performed using FTIR, EDX SEM, BET isotherm point zero charge (pHpzc). Batch experiments assess various factors on biosorption efficiency. Maximum adsorption both metals conveniently found at 0.4 g L-1 dose, pH 5 303 K. capacities for Cu2+ Cd2+ 59.57 38.12 mg g-1, respectively. Langmuir model be best fit acquired equilibrium data. Thermodynamic kinetic parameters showed that process feasible, exothermic followed pseudo-first order.
